We are looking for a someone with joinery skills and a practical aptitude to join our technical support team. The team provides support to the Science Division of HSE in a number of ways, including:
• Building and manufacturing experimental rigs and facilities
• Collecting evidence from incident sites across the UK and storing it appropriately
• Supporting experimental programmes, taking part on test days as appropriate
• Maintaining equipment and facilities used by the division
• Using lifting and other heavy equipment across our Buxton site
Based in the Major Hazards Group within Science Division, the work of the team contributes to incident investigations, research projects for HSE, other government departments and commercial clients. There are a range of teams in the Major Hazards Group including mechanical engineers, engineering materials specialists, fire and explosion, hazardous materials and explosives experts. You will be working with people from all these teams to deliver projects and support testing. Much of the work in the group is focused on the safe introduction of green energy technologies, including batteries and hydrogen.
