As a Senior Disclosure Assurance Officer, you are a specialist in HSE’s information disclosure service.  You are responsible for managing the quality and performance of the service and ensuring that HSE’s information disclosure community have the skills and knowledge to follow the procedures accurately and consistently.

As a subject matter expert, you will advise colleagues and manage information disclosure appeals and internal reviews.  You will foster a culture of continuous improvement, collating feedback on improvement opportunities and co-ordinating with team leaders and managers to develop the service so that it is effective and efficient and complies with all information disclosure legislation.

We are looking for Assurance Practitioners to join our growing team.

This is a rare chance to help shape 2nd line assurance provision in a growing, national organisation. The assurance practitioner roles are new and critical ones within HSE and provide an exciting opportunity for ambitious assurance practitioners who want to be at the heart of developing and delivering a high quality, responsive and efficient assurance function, supporting our Accounting Officer, Directors’, Board and Committees.

As part of a professional team, you will deliver efficient, consistent and effective delivery of 2nd line assurance reviews which drive improvement at all levels across HSE.

You will be a key source of advice to Divisional Directors, Senior Leadership Teams and colleagues in matters relating to internal control and compliance. As HSE enters a significant period of change (including the creation of the Building Safety Regulator) you will utilise your specialist assurance and audit expertise to advise on “what good controls looks like” and help HSE build the appropriate control framework within our new processes.

We currently have an exciting and challenging role in one of our priority areas: the Building Safety Regulator.

Working to the Grade 6 Head of Operational Policy, but often working as part of project teams drawn from across the Building Safety Programme and wider HSE, you will deliver workstreams to develop, test in ‘shadow form’ and the establish the governance and operational delivery arrangements for the Building Safety Regulator and the new building safety regulatory regime to be ready for ‘day 1’ of the new system.

This will concentrate on scoping, developing and implementing the regime of “Gateways” envisioned by the Building Safety Bill. You will discover the best current practice, lead the development of a new operational approach that delivers the policy intent of the new legislation and drive the implementation of this new approach. This will include developing procedures, and regulatory training programmes, and informing the transition of the enabling and secondary legislation through Parliament. You will also lead and support engagement with key stakeholders.

An exciting opportunity is available for 1 Band 5 (EO) Information Management Practitioner to join the team on level-move or promotion. Although, the posts could be undertaken from various HSE office locations, regular travel to Bootle (and other locations) will be required. As you will be working as part of a Bootle based team where you will need to develop knowledge and information management skills and experience, it should be assumed that the successful candidates will be required in Bootle, on average, 3-4 days every week. You should be willing to travel to various locations including other HSE offices, HSE’s Science Laboratory in Buxton and various stakeholder locations.

As part of the Information Management Team, the post holders will provide day-to-day support to HSE on all aspects of information management, promoting best practice and delivering a number of specialist services and making the best use of new technologies and responding to the changing needs of the organisation.

Experience of knowledge and information management is not essential as training and development will be provided.
