This is a very exciting time to be joining HSE, who are currently at the centre of the plans to create a new Building Safety Regulator responsible for implementing and enforcing a more stringent regulatory regime for high-rise buildings, as well as providing wider and stronger oversight of safety and performance across all buildings and increasing the competence of those working on building safety following the Grenfell tragedy (read more here: https://www.hse.gov.uk/building-safety/index.htm).
In addition, as the UK prepares for the end of the Transition Period of exiting the EU, HSE is in the process of setting up a stand-alone UK Chemicals Regulator. This will result in significant expansion for HSE.
