This exciting opportunity will be based at the HSE Science and Research Centre, our research laboratory and unique outdoor testing facilities, in Buxton, Derbyshire and  is an excellent opportunity to use your skills to contribute to innovative work to support HSE incident investigations, and research and testing projects to directly improve the lives of people in their workplace.

The MHCG has several teams of scientists and engineers in areas including fire and explosions, hazardous materials, mechanical engineering, and materials science. The team supports the MHCG and the wider HSE in a range of ways including building test equipment for research projects and incident investigations, and collecting and managing evidence from incident sites making this role varied and interesting.

This role will involve driving cars/vans to locations across Great Britain to collect and/or deliver evidence that may be used as part of a criminal investigation. This will require travel and overnight stays approximately 2-3 times per month.

Software Developer Apprenticeship

You will be supported from day one for your learning and development into this role, ensuring you are supported every step of the way in completing your apprenticeship and getting the experience you need to excel in your new role. Eligibility

This is a development role so to be eligible to apply, the training and development you receive must provide you with significant new skills and learning. This is an essential requirement for apprenticeship funding and means you must not already hold a similar or higher qualification, be working towards a similar or higher qualification, or be significantly experienced in the Software Development modules.

Entry level qualification requirements: 

To be eligible to apply for this role you must have completed a Level 3 Software Development Apprenticeship with QA or hold an equivalent qualification with another training provider. If you do not hold this qualification, you must hold one of the following:

  • An A-level in Technology or Mathematics.
  • A BTEC Diploma in IT.
  • 2 years’ experience in a relevant role:
    • IT Support role e.g. Help Desk, First line
    • Software testing or any work that utilises basic coding
    • Any other technical job that uses IT equipment or software
    • Any data analytics or reporting related role.

Case Handling Officer

The Customer Service Team is a high volume, fast-paced, operational, front-line team. This post is in our case handling function with the Building Safety Regulator (internally BSD Building Safety Division). You will be responsible for processing your assigned work, and making an assessment on information received about the matters raised. You will work collaboratively with internal and external customers to obtain accurate and relevant information. You will ensure that responses are professional, accurate and timely, and work is recorded accurately on the relevant systems. Working within the framework and legislation of the BSR.

Strategic Operational Advisor

Business Design and Change Manager

Within our Operational Services Division (OSD) we are looking to recruit a Business Design and Change Manager (BD&C Manager).

The Change Team sits within our Operational Services Division (OSD) and is comprised of three key pillars: each led by a Head of Change and supported by Practice Leads:

The BD&C Manager sits within the BD&C pillar and will report to the Head of Change.
