Communications Lead – Various Roles

We are currently recruiting for four roles within in our External Communications Team in our Corporate Communications Branch. We are looking for people who have the ability to use a variety of different communication skills. They will need to combine, their level of specialist knowledge in their chosen communications specialism – strategic communications, campaigns, external affairs or media.

Divisional Support Team – Divisional Support Officer

Chemical Regulations Division (CRD) employs around 400 scientific, policy and support staff in York, Bootle and London.

Our primary role is to deliver regulatory schemes intended to protect the health of people and places. We balance the economic and social benefits that chemicals offer to society and help to ensure the safe and sustainable use of chemicals. We also have a role through guidance, partnership working and leadership to raise awareness and promote behaviour change to help improve the control of hazardous substances in the workplace.

To achieve this and deliver improved regulatory outcomes, we work closely with small and large businesses, and key stakeholders, ranging from industry bodies and multi-national chemical businesses, other government departments (in particular Defra) and other regulators across Europe and internationally.

Finance Business Partner Chemical Regulations Division

We are recruiting a Finance and Planning Business Partner and are looking for a strong leader with excellent financial, analytical and communication skills.

You will provide expert advice on financial planning and management of financial risks and opportunities, delivering consistently high standards of financial compliance and supporting the overall performance of the Division.  You will be a trusted advisor to senior managers, providing support and challenge to one or more divisional Senior Leadership Teams on behalf of the Director of Finance and Corporate Services.

Reporting directly through to one of HSE’s Assistant Directors of Finance and depending on the specific role, you will lead a team comprising one or more assistant Business Partners.  As a senior member of the HSE finance and planning community you will bring strong technical skills combined with wider business experience and a sound understanding of the ‘bigger picture’ within Government Finance whilst contributing positively to HSE’s overall performance and seeking business improvements in how we deliver our objectives.

Information Disclosure Assurance Officer

Our Central Information Disclosure team is part of the Information Governance and Compliance team within Information Technology and Facilities Division. The Information Governance and Compliance team have responsibility for managing HSE’s information disclosure service, in addition to several other core functions which includes the Data Protection Officer function, Information Assurance and Security, and the development of an Information Governance framework for HSE.

As the Information Disclosure Assurance Officer, you will have a central role leading a dynamic and growing team. You will provide day-to-day management of a team of Central Disclosure Officers, ensuring that workloads are managed and delivered to required standards, providing support and guidance as required, and ensuring consistent provision of the information disclosure service. You will also review FOI requests ensuring appropriate and consistent application of exemptions under FOI legislation.
