Administrative Support – Various Roles

Health and Safety Executive are looking to fill a number of Administrative Support positions in various business critical areas.

You could be working in a team supporting scientists with their work, responding to requests from stakeholders on their applications or working within a policy function – the posts are across a range of functions including:

• Corporate support
• Policy
• Plant Protection Products (PPP)
• Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemicals (REACH)

Deputy Director of Legal Services Division

The Health and Safety Executive is recruiting an experienced Legal Professional to join the leadership team of our new Legal Services Division. This is an exciting opportunity to manage significant strategic change within an organisation and to lead the creation of a new and vibrant legal team, whilst dealing with some of the most complex and significant prosecutions in this area of regulatory law which, put simply, helps to save lives.

You will be either a qualified Barrister or Solicitor with substantial post-qualification experience, an extensive prosecutorial background, experience of leading a team, practical experience of managing organisational change and, ideally, experience of managing external legal providers, either directly or via a framework arrangement.

This role can be located at any HSE site, although regular attendance at HSE’s Headquarters in Bootle and other HSE locations will also be required.

This role will manage the HSE’s data estate, ensuring that data remain confidential, integral and available (CIA), and relevant to business requirements. This role will monitor all data flows and the use/re-use of data across the organisation to ensure that systems, business analytics and business intelligence are appropriate supported. This role will manage data bases to ensure they remain secure, preventing unauthorised access, data exchange and data loss. Capacity Analyst

We are looking for a Capacity Analyst to join our growing team.

This role will manage the capacity of HSE’s IT estate, coordinating all performance monitoring and forecasting to ensure that the IT estate has sufficient capacity for the number of users, applications and business activities in its change programmes and workforce plans. This role will coordinate the production and analysis of business, service and component capacity reporting and will develop a comprehensive suite of organisational reports that can support the IT strategy and proactive change activity. This role will engage with senior stakeholders to ensure that the needs of the business are accommodated by the IT estate.

Fire Scientist/Engineer

This exciting opportunity will be based in the Science Division of the HSE at our research laboratory and unique outdoor testing facilities, in Buxton, Derbyshire.

Your role will be largely focused on research and testing programmes concerned with fire safety and protection measures across industry (typically construction, major hazards, offshore and manufacturing industries).

Availability Analyst

We are looking for an Availability Analyst to join our growing team.

This role will coordinate, manage and analyse the reporting of availability of services and technologies on the HSE’s IT estate. Inherent in this critical assurance activity, is a requirement to ensure that all service designs and contracts appropriately captures the business’ need for availability. Having articulated the requirement for availability, this role will monitor system and service performance to ensure that the requirements are met and tested. Engaging with Senior Stakeholders to determine the requirement and to review performance against the requirement, this role will conduct analysis into availability failure determining root causes and working with the capacity Manager and Problem Manager to provide mitigations and remedial changes.

LMS Manager (Learning and Development)

This role will sit within HSE’s Human Resources Division (HRD) within the HRD L&D team. As the LMS Manager, you will have responsible for managing and supporting HSE’s L&D requirements, which will be hosted on HSEs Learning Management System (LMS). You will work collaboratively with colleagues across all divisions within HSE, HRD L&D and our Information and Technology department, in the effective management of digital learning projects and learning solutions. You will support and guide internal stakeholders on digital design, development and LMS use, to help shape digital solutions, so the best user experience can be achieved and LMS compliance (and standards) are assured and met.

You will engage with LMS hosting services and external suppliers to manage and maintain the LMS platform and any associated procurement activity. You will also provide clear corporate communications on all LMS outage and changes – offering support, direction and guidance to the LMS administrators on all aspects of LMS administration and management.

It is an exciting time to join us, as we are currently building our digital learning capability and digital learning strategy – to enhance the learning experience for all HSE colleagues. You will help shape this new strategy, working closely with the Digital Learning specialists and Head of Digital Learning in L&D, to embed and increase the reach of the LMS and digital learning within HSE.

This role sits within HSE’s Human Resources Division (HRD) and will be part of the wider HRD L&D team.

The Digital Specialist will work closely with the Head of Digital Learning and other L&D Heads of Delivery to identify learning and development needs through a range of activities, networks and regular consultation with project and business stakeholders.
