As a HM Specialist Inspector (Human Factors) within Chemical Explosives & Microbiological Hazards Division (CEMHD), you will have practical experience of applying Human Factors expertise within the workplace, with experience of applying Human Factors to the control of risks within major hazards industries (such as the Chemical and Downstream Oil Industries).

If you have the ability to work alongside other technical specialists to ensure work activities are operating within the legislative framework by inspecting workplaces, investigating accidents and intervening with companies, we would love to hear from you.

To be eligible to apply for this role, you will have a degree in Ergonomics or Human Factors. Alternatively, a degree in an engineering subject or psychology, with a relevant post-graduate qualification in Ergonomics, Human Factors or Organisational Psychology.

Regulatory Inspector Quarries

Are you looking for a challenge? Can you think strategically and engage at different levels with technical staff and senior management? If so, we are looking for high calibre and experienced specialists to carry out inspections of quarries and surface coal mines including their ancillary operations. You need to be decisive to influence those organisations to bring about improvements.

You will investigate accidents and incidents and take appropriate action where necessary to secure sustained compliance with legal requirements.  You will also be instrumental in contributing to the development of industry guidance, standards and operational strategy. You will be required to represent HSE at meetings with fellow professionals, industry, other HSE staff, including speaking and making presentations at conferences.

To be eligible to apply for this role, you will need to have a relevant Engineering Degree or equivalent. You will also need relevant qualifications in shotfiring and blast design coupled with practical knowledge and experience or be able to demonstrate competence in the safe use of explosives for quarry blasting by other means.

Divisional Support Team – Divisional Support Officer

Chemical Regulations Division (CRD) employs around 400 scientific, policy and support staff in York, Bootle and London.

Our primary role is to deliver regulatory schemes intended to protect the health of people and places. Information Disclosure Assurance Officer

Our Central Information Disclosure team is part of the Information Governance and Compliance team within Information Technology and Facilities Division. The Information Governance and Compliance team have responsibility for managing HSE’s information disclosure service, in addition to several other core functions which includes the Data Protection Officer function, Information Assurance and Security, and the development of an Information Governance framework for HSE.
