HSE is looking for an experienced scientist or engineer to Chair a new Group which will provide the HSE Chief Executive, Chief Scientific Adviser and the HSE Board with independent and objective assurance on the relevance and quality of the science, engineering and evidence produced across HSE which is commissioned and delivered in support of HSE’s strategy and plans.
We would welcome applications from people who are eminent in a scientific discipline, evidenced by national and/or international impact, and who show the ability to work comfortably across a wide range of relevant scientific disciplines. You should have substantial experience of leading and managing research teams and have wide experience of working across the scientific community in a leadership role. This experience could include industrial, academic, government or other sectors as long as it includes activities beyond their own specialisms and work across disciplines and perspectives. You should also be able to chair and lead a diverse group of highly capable, experienced people.
